Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate daily lessons and learning activities.
  • Provide a safe, loving, nurturing, and Christian-centered classroom environment.
  • Teach foundational academic skills including colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and early literacy.
  • Promote social-emotional development, including sharing, communication, independence, and conflict resolution.
  • Encourage children’s language and communication skills through stories, songs, conversations, and interactive activities.
  • Plan hands-on activities involving art, sensory play, music, movement, and dramatic play.
  • Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain active supervision during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
  • Assist children with toilet training and personal hygiene as needed.
  • Follow proper diapering, toileting, handwashing, and sanitation procedures.
  • Serve and supervise meals and snacks while encouraging healthy eating habits.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, attractive, and developmentally appropriate classroom.
  • Observe and document children’s developmental progress and milestones.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain individual student records.
  • Identify developmental or behavioral concerns and communicate them appropriately to administration and parents.
  • Establish consistent classroom routines and positive behavior-management strategies.
  • Redirect inappropriate behaviors using patience, positive reinforcement, and age-appropriate discipline techniques.
  • Communicate professionally and regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress, needs, and daily experiences.
Qualifications & Preferences
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Florida Child Care 40-Hour Introductory Training (completed or working toward completion within required timeframes)
  • Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC)
  • Must be Christian and provide a letter from your Pastor
  • Must speak Spanish and/or English fluently.
