Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate VPK lessons.
Create a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
Conduct student observations and assessments to monitor progress.
Maintain lesson plans, portfolios, and classroom documentation in accordance with APPLE and licensing requirements.
Implement CLASS best practices to promote high-quality interactions and student engagement.
Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Collaborate with administrators and staff to support school readiness and continuous quality improvement.
Ensure compliance with DCF licensing, VPK, and APPLE accreditation standards.
Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and required trainings.
Qualifications & Preferences
Florida VPK Credential (FCCPC/CDA or higher) and current DCF training requirements.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in a VPK or preschool classroom.
Strong knowledge of CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) and the ability to implement strategies that support high-quality teacher-child interactions.
Experience preparing for and maintaining APPLE Accreditation standards, including classroom documentation and compliance.
Familiarity with Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards and VPK curriculum.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
