Provide a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for infants and toddlers.
Supervise children at all times and ensure their safety and well-being throughout the day.
Follow daily classroom routines, including feeding, diapering, naptime, playtime, and learning activities.
Change diapers regularly and maintain proper hygiene and sanitation procedures.
Assist children with meals and snacks while encouraging age-appropriate independence.
Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.
Follow the center’s lesson plans and curriculum.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom throughout the day.
Properly clean and sanitize toys, classroom materials, feeding areas, and diaper-changing areas.
Monitor each child’s individual needs, behaviors, and developmental progress.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents regarding their child’s day, including meals, naps, diaper changes, activities, and any concerns.
Work cooperatively with other teachers and staff members to maintain a positive classroom environment.
Follow all daycare policies, procedures, licensing requirements, and health and safety regulations.
Complete required daily documentation and classroom records accurately.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.
Demonstrate patience, reliability, professionalism, and a genuine love for working with young children.
Perform other classroom and childcare-related duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications & Preferences
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Previous experience working with infants and/or toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting preferred.
Florida DCF 45-hour Child Care Training
CDA, FCCPC, or other Early Childhood Education credential.
Must be able to pass all required background screening and childcare employment requirements.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Knowledge of infant and toddler development and age-appropriate classroom practices preferred.
Experience with diapering, feeding, nap time routines, and maintaining infant/toddler daily schedules.
Must be patient, caring, dependable, and attentive to children’s individual needs.
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with parents, coworkers, and administration.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
Ability to work well as part of a team and follow classroom and center policies.
Comfortable maintaining a clean and organized classroom and following sanitation procedures.
Must be able to actively supervise children throughout the day and perform the physical responsibilities associated with caring for infants and toddlers.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Familiarity with The Creative Curriculum is a plus.
